Latvians in USA like folk dancing



Folk dance grtoup from Indianapolis (USA) enjoy latvian folk dancing according to IVETA ASONS, director of the folk dance group JAUTRAIS PRIS.

Dance Sudmalias captured during the concert in the Latvian center, Indianapolis, On May 8, 2010 the ensemble celebrated its 60th anniversary with a performance, dinner, and dance at the Latvian Community Center of Indianapolis. The performance featured the ensemble’s children’s group with 20 dancers, the youth/young adult/adult group with 30 dancers, and the senior group, “Jautrais solis,” with 12 dancers. The Indianapolis Lithuanian Folk Music Ensemble “Biru Bar” accompanied several of the dances and provided dance music later in the evening. The audience of nearly 250 included many former dancers – from central Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, New York, Massachusetts, Minnesota and California.
